A city cannot have a comprehensive vision for its built environment
without a General Plan that guides zoning and land use. OCCORD's
mission is to ensure that there is equitable development in Orange
County and specifically in Santa Ana. We believe that selling off
public assets without consideration of the Surplus Land Act is
absolutely in direct conflict to promoting equitable development.
We ask that you continue item 19D until you, the Mayor and members of
City Council can answer how you plan to comply with the CA Surplus Land
Act with the sale of these public parcels.
I will be happy to meet you in person to understand if & and how the City is
in compliance with the CA Surplus Land Act, And in the interim, if you
have any questions, please call me at 714-621-0919, EXT i1.
Sincerely,
Shakeel Syed
Executive Director
cc: City Attorney, City of Santa Ana
