Concern we are losing more of the park. The National Park Service is <br />watching closely and we need to make sure the resident's interest is <br />guarded. <br />o Councilmember Villegas indicated he also is concerned about giving away <br />our parks, but also wants to make sure about protecting student safety. <br />The district should be providing security on the field and protect the <br />students. <br />COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS m <br />o Councilmember Benavides indicated we need to expand activities in <br />recreation. <br />FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS <br />o Skate Park Opportunity <br />o Update on Centennial Skate Park Fence <br />o Update on Birch Park Fence <br />o Youth Commission Pool <br />o Update on dead trees/Maintenance plan/Funding <br />o Update on the Park Ranger Program <br />o Fiesta Patries Cost last year <br />STAFF COMMENTS <br />o Interim Director Nunez indicate the parks is operating on a bear minimum and <br />not much room to cut. They work on their own time to provide quality program <br />and clean parks. <br />o Exec. Director Pham indicated we have a lot of need in the organization and <br />liability issues from trees, sidewalk and pools. <br />MEETING ADJOURNED: 6:58 P.M.
