(c) For intersections with power outrages, The Contractor shall use the following <br />procedure: <br />(i) Setup temporary stop signs at all approach upon arrival at the site. <br />(ii) Turn off the traffic signal controller and place cabinet control to flashing <br />operation. <br />(Hi) Once the power is restored, remove all stop signs and return the traffic <br />signal to normal operation. <br />8. Compensation For Routine And Extraordinary Maintenance <br />(a) Routine Maintenance: <br />Compensation for routine maintenance of traffic signal system shall be per <br />contracted unit price. Said compensation shall include all labor, material, <br />equipment and overhead/profits. <br />(b) Extraordinary Maintenance: <br />Compensation for extraordinary maintenance of traffic signal system shall be <br />per contracted unit price. Said compensation shall include all labor, material, <br />equipment and overhead/profits. <br />For work not listed in the bid list, compensation shall be based on agreed lump <br />sum price or time and material basis. <br />(i) Materials: The City shall pay the Contractor for materials used in <br />extraordinary maintenance, the Contractor's cost from the supplier plus the <br />percentage specified in the Contractor's bid proposal. All materials and. <br />parts shall be new or have the approval of the Traffic Engineer. <br />The City has the right to inspect the Contractor's records to verify any <br />material costs used in extraordinary maintenance <br />(ii) Direct Labor; The Contractor shall present with his monthly invoice a <br />record of hours spent in extraordinary maintenance of traffic signals and <br />appurtenances per intersection, City shall pay the Contractor for such <br />hours of extraordinary maintenance at the rates specified on the <br />Contractor's bid proposal, Said hourly rates shall be the total cost to City. <br />Rates shall include all compensation for wages, profit, overhead, any fringe <br />benefits such as employer payments to, or on behalf of, work for health and <br />welfare, insurance, worker's compensation, pension, vacation, sick leave or <br />any local, state, federal, or union tax or assessment. <br />(iii)Equipment; City shall pay the Contractor for equipment used in <br />extraordinary maintenance on a job -trip basis rate as specified in the <br />Contractor's bid proposal, The Contractor'sjob-trip equipment rates shall <br />constitute the rates to be paid by the City when the specified equipment is <br />used for the extraordinary maintenance. As used herein, job -trip shall <br />mean the furnishing of the required equipment at the site of extraordinary <br />maintenance work for the duration of the work.
