REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />SEPTEMBER 17, 2019 <br />TITLE: <br />AMENDMENT TO THE BLANKET ORDER <br />CONTRACTS FOR PROMOTIONAL <br />ITEMS AND SERVICE AWARD IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $110,000 FOR A TOTAL NOT <br />TO EXCEED $185,000 <br />(SPECIFICATION NO. 17-125) <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 7,2) <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />A&�� FILE NUMBER <br />CITY MMAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Amend the blanket order contracts aggregate amount for Citywide promotional items and service <br />awards in the amount of $110,000 for a total annual amount not to exceed $185,000 subject to <br />non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On January 16, 2018, Council awarded two-year contracts with provisions for three one-year <br />renewals (five years total) for promotional items and service awards for an amount not to exceed <br />$75,000 to the following vendors: <br />• Authentic Promotions <br />• Geri's Screen -printing LLC, <br />• PromoteThis <br />• TIE Consulting, Inc. <br />During the following twelve (12) months, we will be sponsoring various community engagement <br />events such as the City of Santa Ana's 150th Year Anniversary and 2020 Census. Specifically, the <br />City will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary, which will include several events promoting <br />community pride and engagement. The events will include giveaways, props, banners, flyers and <br />other necessary supplies and equipment. <br />In preparation for the 2020. Census, the Santa Ana Census Ambassador Program (Program) will <br />educate, motivate, and activate the city's trusted voices and leaders throughout hard -to -count <br />communities to help ensure that everyone in Santa Ana is counted. The Program serves as a <br />liaison between business, education, and faith based organizations. <br />Outreach for both the 2020 Census and the 150th Celebration will be conducted at various city - <br />sponsored events including the Mariachi Festival, Fiestas Patrias, 5K race, 150th Celebration, Viva <br />22A-1 <br />
