From:Orozco, Norma
To:Bernal, Sarah
Cc:Fregoso, Vince; Mitre-Ramirez, Norma; Lopez, Kenia; Rojano, Michael; Gomez, Daisy
Subject:FW: Planning Commission - Project Location 923 N Santiago Street Unit C
Date:Tuesday, August 20, 2019 10:20:15 AM
FYI – below is correspondence addressed to the Planning Commission.

From: Ray [mailto:]
Sent: Monday, August 19, 2019 8:34 PM
To: eComment <eComment@santa-ana.org>
Subject: Planning Commission - Project Location 923 N Santiago Street Unit C

To Sarah Bernal and City Council,

As a resident of Santa Ana and part of the neighborhood, my family and I are extremely
against the approval of Conditional Use Permit #2019-18. The reasons are as follows:

We were highly against the building of the complex in the first place; however, it was noted
that parking will not be an issue and there would be retail space to bring a positive experience
in the area.

Please note that parking has been difficult to find in the evenings, increase in loitering in the
area, increase in traffic, and increase in noise especially with barking dogs left on the balcony.

What retail is there right now? NOTHING! I personally called the leasing office inquiring
about taking out a space for my business. I was given a phone number to strive gut, and I
called and left a message THREE times and never heard back from the man I was directed to
call. What is happening to the retail space?

If the people in charge cannot follow through on the potential increase in business by leasing
the retail space, they should not be making any more decisions until they follow through with
the original plans.

If no one is willing to entertain potential tenants for the EMPTY retail space, then the people
in charge need to stop making additional decisions that can potentially negatively affect our
neighborhood.

A public laundromat open to the public for those hours opens up the area to loitering unless
there are things for people to do.

Open the retail spaces, THEN we can discuss opening up the laundry room. Follow through!
Council members should have the city's best interest, not their own. Make wise decisions and
hold people accountable, council members.
