We have been
having issues with the Laundromat witch has been open to the public form day one over a year ago. This has been
nothing but problems. How have they been operating with out a permit for over a year?
Homeless people sleeping outside and inside. People playing music loud in cars and on sidewalk, smoking and
drinking. As you can see the street is very narrow with 3 sorry buildings on each side, so it echoes. After many
calls and letters to the owners we got the beaches removed. This helped the homeless sleeping problem outside.
Then the public bathroom inside, you pay quarters to operate did not go over with the homeless. So they broke the
door. So you can not use bathroom with locked door. The word on the street is they are using the bathroom for
prostitution. I have two friends that live in the apartment building. She said they have to go off site to wash
cloths. If you are not waiting when they open the public take all the machines. So the residents are out of luck.
They are dirty and always broken. My friend asked up to her apartment for 10 min wile the wash was in progress.
Came back waited for machine to finish. Just to find out someone stole her sheets when she walked out for a min.
During the wash cycle they took her wet sheets!
With the Wooden Floor dance program taking 100% of the retail. I don’t think sketchy people should be hating out
around all the kids. I know everyone needs to wash cloths but this is not large enough for residents and public use.
The parking is bad, the smoking right under people windows. Not a great idea for the neighborhood.
Thanks for considering my input.
Nathan Ogilvie
