Safety Environmental Impacts Structural Failures Drive & Pump Shaft Longevity of Materials Compliance Traffic Control Pump Station and Pipeline Alignment City of Santa Ana, Public Works Agency Construction Engineering Services for the San Lorenzo Sewage Lift Station, RFP No. 98-049 ❑ Attend Contractor's weekly safety meeting. Follow and respect Contractor's safety program. ❑ Observe for testing of the quality of air in confined spaces and the provision of a fresh air source. ❑ Inspect HVAC duct connections, pipe joints, doorlhatch seals, penetration seals and equipment seals for tightness and longevity. ❑ Ensure HVAC system is Installed where the fresh air source Is unobstructed and unadulterated. ❑ Inspect to see that all electrical equipment is properly grounded, all switches are the non -spark type and hazardous areas are equipped with explosion proof fixtures, switches, boxes, outlets. ❑ Verify all light sources are installed In a location to provide required lumens for operation personnel. ❑ Enforce hours of work, noise levels, and clean work areas. ❑ Require whisper quiet equipment for 24-hour dewatering operations and emergency numbers for Contractor to address abnormalities. ❑ Inspect all structural components such as concrete, pump base plates and other equipment supports for level and plumb. ❑ Require proper alignment using millwright(s) for drive and pump shaft alignment. 0. Provide a pump installation within the manufacturer's requirement. ❑ Insist the Contractor follow the requirement for corrosion resistant materials during construction. ❑ Enforce Best Management Practices (BMP) for site drainage and eliminate runoff. ❑ Monitor and enforce traffic control plans for Sergerstrom Avenue. ❑I Check Pump Station and Pipeline alignment and depth during construction. ❑ Illness and Injury free construction site. ❑ Maintain a safe working environment In confined space ❑ Prevent leakage of odors and explosive gasses. Provide for a hazard free environment. ❑ Provide a safe environment for operation and maintenance of the pump station. ❑ Facility Is provided with unobstructed lighting for safety and ease of operation and maintenance, ❑ Minimize environmental Impacts to the local community. ❑ Minimize community complaints and possible complications from spills or interruption of dewatering operation. ❑ Prevent minor structural failures that can cause pumps and other equipment to run inefficiently causing noise vibration and wear. ❑ Will provide full warranty performance, ❑ Increase longevity of the Pump Station and pipeline. ❑ Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies. ❑ Maintain maximum traffic flow and worker's safety. ❑ Provide working hydraulic profile as designed for properly functioning facilities.
