visually inspect the flag every day to assure it is in good condition, Should, in the <br />opinion of the Director's Representative, the flag is not be in good condition (faded, <br />discolored, tom and/or having holes) the Contractor shall immediately request from <br />the Director's Representative a new flag. Contractor shall raise the new flag <br />immediately upon receipt from the Director's Representative, The Contractor shall <br />replace the flags twice a year (January, July) with flags provided by the City, <br />6.1.7 Japanese Garden Pagoda shall be cleaned daily. <br />6.2 Centennial Park <br />6.2.1 The parking lot south of Rancho Santiago College is a part of the agreement site. <br />6.2.2 The unimproved planting area east of Rancho Santiago College is a part of the <br />agreement site. <br />6.2.3 The irrigated area outside of Dan Young Soccer Complex to the west is a part of <br />the agreement site. <br />6.2A The plaiting island north of the parking structure is a part of the agreement site <br />6.2.5 The Contractor shall hose off daily from pedestrian hardscape areas bind droppings, <br />6.3 Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park <br />6.3.1 Califbrnia Natives and Drought Tolerant Shrubs <br />Selectively prune and trim all native plants during appropriate seasons to ensure <br />pedestrian paths, walkways and sidewalks are not impeded or as necessary based <br />on best horticultural practices. (i.e. Romneya coulter! pruned to 6" in late summer <br />or fall, Salvia clevelandii pruned in fall, Zauschenria sp, established plants cut <br />back hard in winter after flowering, Tecoma stans seed pods removed to <br />encourage flowering) <br />6.3.2 Bamboo - Dead, old, small, leaning or misshapen culms shall be removed <br />annually. Cuts shall be made as close to the ground as possible and straight <br />across so there are no dangerous, sharp points sticking out of the ground. Care <br />shall be taken to avoid damaging newly emerging calms. The Director's <br />Representative will provide additional direction on which clumps may be topped <br />to increase the screening effect or "legged -up" for aesthetics. Giant timber <br />bamboo shall be maintained with a minimum of 12" distance from building <br />foundations. <br />6.3.3 Epiphytic Specimen Plants -• Epiphytic plants (Platycerium sp., Bromeliads, <br />Anthurium sp„ Tlllana is sp., Laelia sp., etc.) without dedicated irrigation shall be <br />hand -watered every two to three weeks during the cooler winter months and a <br />minimum of once per week throughout the rest of the year, or otherwise dry and <br />hot periods. Platycerium shall be fially drenched including the fronds, The <br />Contractor shall advise the Director's Representative of any specimens causing <br />damage to structures or trees. <br />City of Santa Ana RFP 19-092 <br />Page 27 <br />
