FIRST STREET PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PSU <br />OF N6., to-110 <br />iM +.vant Project + Experience ,� <br />Tetra Tech is providing engineering, geotechnical, <br />environmental, permitting, landscaping, surveying <br />and construction support services for this active <br />transportation project. The project Js :funded In part <br />by ATP state grantfunds. The pedestrian pathway will <br />run parallel with Lincoln Avenue west of the existing <br />railroad tracks and end at the existingSantiago Trail, <br />underthe railroad bridge that crosses Santiago Greek. <br />The improvements include a 12400t pathway and <br />railroad -approved safetyfencing, drought tolerant <br />landscaping, pedestrian lighting, benches, and a <br />trailhead to identify the pathway. <br />when the Lincoln and Fairhaven Avenue railroad <br />crossing was closed permanently several years ago,. <br />pedestrian and bicyclist access was also removed. The <br />closure now requires motorized and non -motorized <br />users to travel an additional mile out of the way, <br />causing a substantial impact for non -motorized users. - <br />The construction of the project will provide active <br />transportation continuity to the Santiago Trail, connect <br />to the existing pedestrian pathway located along <br />the east side of the railroad tracks, and enhance the <br />aesthetics of the area.
