These reports are required in order for the City to continue to be in compliance with State <br />Housing Law and be eligible for certain state funding programs such as the Housing Related Parks <br />Program (HRP). In addition, the Governor's Office has proposed penalties for cities who do not <br />meet their RHNA goals. Pursuant to Government Code Section 65400, the report is to be <br />considered at a public meeting before the legislative body where members of the public may <br />provide testimony and written comments. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #3 (facilitate diverse housing opportunities and support <br />efforts to preserve and improve the livability of Santa Ana neighborhoods), Strategy B (ensure <br />compliance with the City's Housing Opportunity Ordinance by requiring rental and ownership <br />housing projects that meet specified criteria to provide a minimum of 15 percent affordable units). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. <br />Minh Thai <br />Executive Director <br />Planning and Building Agency <br />RS:fg S:\Planning\Comprehensive.Planning\HousingVAnnual ProgressReport\2019\StaffReport\RFCAmarch2020-RS.docx <br />Exhibit: 1.
