Salas, Diana
From:
Salas, Diana
Sent:
Tuesday, March 17, 2020 1:00 PM
To:
(City Clerk
Subject:
FW: Moratorium
Dear Honorable Mayor and Council Members, My name is
Laura Pantoja and I am a resident of Santa Ana. I am
writing to urge you to approve a moratorium on rent
increases, evictions and foreclosures, as proposed by the
Tenants United Santa Ana coalition. A few weeks from
the beginning of this crisis, we are Already seeing how
Santa Ana residents are being impacted. Three months
ago I was evicted and it was an effort for my family to
collect my deposit and two months of rent to find a home
and right now, my working hours have been cut, I am in a
difficult situation so I would like to receive your support
for. There are people who have already suffered a cut in
working hours or have had to stop working completely to
take care of their relatives and they will have a lot of
difficulty paying their rent next month. In the midst of a
global pandemic, our community needs nothing more to
worry about. Today more than ever you must act to
protect the right to a home of every Santa Ana resident
and ensure the well-being of the children and families of
Santa Ana. You have the power to care for our community
and pass a moratorium today. Thank you, Laura Pantoja
515 N Townsend Santa Ana C a 92703 7148661251
1
