At the end of
every quarter Excelbis will donate a the greater of $1000 or match dollar to dollar our Client's
donations. Excelbis will challenge our Clients to donate generously. All donations will be split
equally to benefit the homeless and the Salvation Army of Santa Ana.
During the months of November- December all staff will be required to participate in
volunteer work with Mary's Kitchen either serving food or assist them in a Kitchen cleanup. Staff
must register at least 5 hours of time with this organization.
Sustainable Building and Business Practices
At Excelbis, protecting the public and the environment from chemicals used in our
business is our number one goal. We ensure that these chemicals are handled with proper care
and disposed in a responsible manner, so they do not enter and harm the environment. All our
chemicals are placed in safe containers for disposal through a bio-waste management company
responsibly.
At Excelbis we are opting to engage in the green initiative. Our kitchen, office and lab
areas utilize its own recyclable trash receptacles designated for plastic, cans and battles. Our lab
provides a water delivery jug through sparkletts and each employee will be provided by the
company one hydro flask to encourage the reduction in the use of plastic water bottles. In order
to conserve on paper all lab notes will be implemented and stored digitally in our servers to for
conservation purposes and will only be printed out upon request. We are utilizing surface book
tablets for most of our lab work and when it comes to collecting signatures. The Cannabis Control
Bureau's regulations mandate that, all samples for compliance testing must be picked up by the
lab which requires us to have a company vehicle. In order to reduce gas emissions, Excelbis
intends on using energy efficient vehicles, hybrid or electric cars to meet the state requirements.
Excelbis intends to acquire a hybrid vehicle for it sales staff to conserve gas and promote an eco-
friendly method of transportation.
Local Hiring and Sourcing
Becoming a cannabis testing lab in Santa Ana brings opportunity for more jobs in the
community. Excelbis will work with local colleges to hire part time students along with putting an
internship program together to help students, 21 and over, who desire to explore the
environmental science field. We plan on reaching out to the Santa Ana college and Orange Coast
college science departments and provide students an opportunity on a monthly basis to sign up
and take a tour of the facility with an opportunity to engage with our Lab Director and staff in a
Q & A session. While most of the lab work needs to be done by college graduates, are able to
work in our intake room where they can handle samples, tag them and prepare them to begin
the testing process. We plan on sending job openings to the local colleges to fill this role.
