AND B&K ELECTRIC WHOLESALE <br />FOR ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES, TOTAL <br />AGGREGATE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br />$500,000 <br />(SPECIFICATION NO. 20-017) <br />(NON -GENERAL FUND) <br />/s/Kristine Ridge <br />CITY MANAGER <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award blanket order contracts to Graybar Electric Company, Inc. and B&K Electric Wholesale for <br />electrical supplies for a two-year period beginning April 21, 2020, and expiring April 20, 2022, with <br />provisions for three, one-year renewal options exercisable by the City Manager, in an annual <br />aggregate amount not to exceed $100,000, for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $500,000, <br />subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency — Water Resources Division operates and maintains seven Metropolitan <br />Water District connections, 21 groundwater wells, seven pump stations, and four pressure - <br />regulating stations. These water facilities require operational electric motors and controls to <br />maintain a smooth running system capable of meeting the community's water demands. Water <br />Production staff provides routine maintenance and repair of the facility's electric systems, including <br />the replacement of miscellaneous electrical components. To ensure the Water Production team <br />has access to the necessary electrical materials, supplies and software support, staff recommends <br />awarding an aggregate contract to Graybar Electric Company, Inc. and B&K Electric Wholesale. <br />A Notice Inviting Bids for electrical supplies and materials was advertised on February 11, 2020, <br />on the City's online bid management and publication system. A summary of the Invitation for Bids <br />and bids received is as follows: <br />345 <br />Vendors notified <br />17 <br />Santa Ana vendors notified <br />15 <br />Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />2 <br />Bids received <br />0 <br />Bids received from a Santa Ana vendor <br />Two bids were received and evaluated on March 3. 2020.
