Agreement with SEIU PTCS 2019-2022 <br />May 5, 2020 <br />Page 2 <br />The initial salary increase will be provided to those employees currently employed as of <br />the date the MOU is adopted by Council and retroactively paid to the pay period including <br />July 1, 2019. <br />3. Holiday Closure: The City and SEIU-PTCS have agreed to a mandatory City-wide winter <br />holiday closure each year during the term of this MOU and shall sunset on June 30, 2022. <br />This provision expires June 30, 2022, unless mutually agreed otherwise by the parties. <br />4. Health and Dental Allowances: The City will continue to provide a prorated monthly <br />allowance of 75% of the City's contribution allotted to full-time SEIU represented <br />employees for health and dental insurances based on coverage level selected by <br />employee. The SEW full-time unit received increased towards health and dental <br />allowances beginning January 1, 2020 and each January thereafter during the term of the <br />MOU July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021. The SEIU-PTCS will receive an indirect <br />increase to these allowances due to the SEIU full-time unit increase. The increase cost is <br />reflected in the fiscal impact section. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's effort to meet Goal #7 - Team Santa Ana, Objective #4 <br />(establish employee compensation that attracts and retains a highly qualified workforce), <br />Objective #5 (create a culture of innovation and efficiency within the organization), Objective #6 <br />(provide a positive workplace environment that supports the health of its employees and <br />celebrates its success), and Objective #7 (develop a culture of motivated and innovative leaders <br />in the organization). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />During the three-year term of the agreement, the total cost increase for the bargaining unit is <br />$31,992 (all funds), including the fiscal year 2019-2020 increase of $13,060 (Exhibit 1). <br />Exhibits: 1.
