B. "hnmediate family" as used in this section is limited to: <br />1. Any member of the employee's household related by blood or marriage; <br />2. A parent, parent -in-law, stepparent, spouse, registered domestic partner, child, <br />stepchild, brother, stepbrother, sister, stepsister, grandparent, grandparent -in- <br />law, or grandchild of the employee, regardless of residence; <br />3. Subject to the discretion of the Executive Director of Human Resources, any <br />other relative of the employee by blood or by marriage where it can be <br />established by the employee that as a result of such relative's death, the <br />employee's presence is required to handle funeral arrangements and/or matters <br />of estate. <br />C. Upon request, an employee may use up to twelve (12) additional hours of leave <br />charged to their Personal Necessity Leave balance when authorized by the <br />Department Head. <br />9.3 Military Leave <br />A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatements <br />An employee shall be granted military leave if he/she furnishes the Executive <br />Director of Human Resources satisfactory proof of his'her order to report for duty. <br />Upon return and upon showing of proof of actual service pursuant to such orders, <br />he/she will be reinstated as provided by law and in Section 143 of the City's Civil <br />Service Rules and Regulations. <br />B. Temporary Leave <br />Members of the reserve forces of the United States or the National Guard granted <br />temporary leave when ordered to duty, will be granted leave with pay not to exceed <br />thirty (30) working days in each calendar year after the hourly equivalent of one <br />(1) year of service with the City upon presenting satisfactory proof of orders to <br />and from such temporary active duties. <br />9.4 Examination Leave <br />Employees participating in examinations conducted during their normal working hours for <br />positions in the competitive service of the City will be granted leave with pay for the time <br />actually required without loss of any accrued paid leave. <br />2019-2022 MOU City of Santa Ana & SEW Part -Time Civil Service Employees Unit 42 <br />20C 45 r <br />
