• The zoning code was updated in 2018 to remain consistent with the California density <br />bonuslaw. <br />• The city and FHCOC provide fair housing and neighborhood improvement program <br />information in multiple languages. <br />• Housing rehabilitation programs are marketed to low income households which include <br />areas of racial/ethnic concentration <br />Reasonable Accommodations <br />• Fair housing education and information on reasonable modifications/accommodations are <br />provided to apartment managers and homeowners association by FHCOC. <br />Discriminatory Advertising <br />• FHCOC periodically monitors local newspapers and online media outlets to identify <br />potentially discriminatory housing advertisements. <br />Unfair Lending <br />• Housing rehabilitation programs are marketed to low income households which include <br />high minority concentrations and limited English speaking proficiency areas. <br />Zoning <br />• Fountain Valley's Zoning Code was updated in 2016 to treat transitional and supportive <br />housing as a residential use, subject to the same standards as other residential uses of the <br />same type in the same zone. <br />Density Bonus hicentives <br />• Fountain Valley's Zoning Code was updated in 2018 to continually remain consistent with <br />State density bonus law. <br />City of Garden Grove <br />Housing Discrimination <br />• In partnership with the Fair Housing Foundation, the City conducted multi -faceted fair <br />housing outreach to tenants, landlords, property owners, realtors, and property <br />management companies. Methods of outreach included workshops, informational booths <br />at community events, presentations to community groups, staff trainings, and distribution <br />of multi-lingual fair housing literature. <br />• Conducted focused outreach and education to small property owners/landlords on fair <br />housing, and race, reasonable accommodation and familial status issues in particular. <br />Conducted property manager trainings on a regular basis, targeting managers of smaller <br />properties, and promoted fair housing certificate training. <br />• Provided general counseling and referrals to address tenant -landlord issues and provided <br />periodic tenant -landlord walk-in clinics at City Hall and other community locations. <br />12 <br />75A-291 <br />
