NA-50 Non -Housing Community Development Needs — 91.215 (f) <br />Describe the jurisdiction's need for Public Facilities: <br />Within Santa Ana, there are a number of public facility needs. According to a survey of residents and <br />stakeholders, the five highest rated public facility needs were: <br />1. Homeless Emergency Shelters <br />2. Parks <br />3. Community Facilities (e.g. neighborhood or senior centers) <br />4. Emergency Service Facilities (e.g. fire or other emergency facilities) <br />5. Youth Centers <br />Through community and stakeholder meetings, participants stressed the importance of new and/ or <br />rehabilitated facilities to serve neighborhoods and/ or target populations (e.g. homeless shelters, youth <br />centers, and senior centers). <br />How were these needs determined? <br />The needs identified for public facilities in the City were determined through community and stakeholder <br />meetings, resident and stakeholder responses from the Consolidated Plan Survey, and interviews with <br />stakeholders in the community. Within the Consolidated Plan, priority is given to facilities that primarily <br />benefit low- income beneficiaries, particularly those with critically needed renovation or demonstrated <br />need for expansion to accommodate the needs of low-income residents. <br />Describe the jurisdiction's need for Public Improvements: <br />Within Santa Ana, there are a number of public improvement needs. According to a survey of residents <br />and stakeholders, the five highest rated public improvement needs are: <br />1. Park improvements <br />2. Broadband/High speed internet access <br />3. Flood drainage improvements <br />4. Street/Alley improvements <br />5. Demolition/Clearance of blighted properties/structures <br />How were these needs determined? <br />The needs identified for public improvements in the City were determined through community and <br />stakeholder meetings, resident and stakeholder responses from the Consolidated Plan Survey, and <br />interviews with stakeholders in the community. Within the Consolidated Plan, priority is given to <br />improvements that primarily benefit low- income beneficiaries, particularly those identified as critical <br />needs within the City. <br />Describe the jurisdiction's need for Public Services: <br />Consolidated Plan SANTA ANA 78 <br />OMB control No: 2506-0117(exp. 06/30/2018) 75A-86 <br />
