ORANGE COUNTY <br />CONSERVATION CORPS <br />It' Earn.Aearn...Serve... <br />Tools to Green the Futurel <br />Purpose: <br />toll free: (888) 641-CORP (2677) <br />www.hireyouth.org <br />Orange County Conservation Corps <br />Paid Work Experience Policy <br />To establish guidelines for the paid youth work experience of any grant program <br />governed by WIOA regulations or alternative funding and to provide youth with <br />meaningful work experience in order to assure the successful completion of our <br />program. <br />Eligibility: <br />• An individual must be WIOA eligible and enroll with Orange County <br />Conservation Corps (OCCC) or eligible for our general enrollment. <br />• An individual must have legal right to work in the United States and be <br />able to furnish proof upon enrollment in the program <br />• As it is with all WIOA services and our general enrollment, provision of <br />services is not an entitlement. <br />Placements: <br />• All participants will start at the current state of California minimum wage <br />and will be provided paid sick leave. <br />• All participants may be work up to 29 hours per week. <br />• All participants enrolled under the WIOA will have the opportunity to work <br />at a minimum 6 weeks and not exceed 45 weeks or a maximum of 900 <br />hours. Exception will be made on a case by case basis. <br />• All other participants enrolled in our general program will have up to one <br />year to complete the program. Extension may be requested. <br />• All placements will be made based on the individual interest and plans <br />developed with Case Manager/Program Specialist to support the youth in <br />the career exploration and achievement of their goals. Placements will be <br />available on OCCC crews and worksite partner organizations. <br />Roles and Responsibilities: <br />Case Manager/Program Specialist is responsible for: <br />• Assessing and keeping record of youth's work experience needs and <br />placements. <br />• Inform participant of the OCCC policies and formal procedures. <br />• In collaboration with the Placement and Recruitment Specialist and other <br />staff, refer youth to placements. <br />EXHIBIT C <br />
