I would gladly have used tax payer dollars on affordabl <br />than on vehicles for police. The proposed use of this land will be for the constrk <br />boutique hotel. We do not need hotels in Santa Ana, when residents can barely <br />purchase a house. Where many lack livable wages, housing security, or food s+ <br />could use this land as a community center, as many have called for. 2014 therE <br />from Taller San Jose, who proposed a neighborhood fitness and wellness cente <br />provide job training for residents. How is it that you all preach the need for a =_ <br />Santa Ana, yet fail to negotiate an affordable way to build youth community cE <br />housing, or a wellness center that were proposed? What contributes to Santa E <br />homelessness, and substance abuse is the lack of programs, centers, resources, <br />housing, and a livable wages that will provide residents with the means to thriv <br />gentrification, industrialization, lack of resources, lack of programs, and displac <br />residents is what the general plan, the budget, and the authorization of luxury <br />sky rise buildings perpetuates. The continued notion that seeps from many me <br />council is we need to keep or increase the funds to SAPID because of the behav <br />of residence who are perceived to commit crimes, while turning a blind eye to 1 <br />-This building has historic value. The land YMCA is built on was the first school I <br />Ana, known as Central School, in the 1870s. It led to a dominoes effect and aft, <br />Santa Ana College was build. The formation of YMCA in 1924 was an organizati <br />foster physical, moral, intellectual, and spiritual development of young men. 4 <br />National Register of Historic places, YMCA was catered for youth recreational a <br />programs, special skills classes, leadership skills, high school youth and adult tr; <br />place where different organizations came together to provide resources and pr <br />residents of Santa Ana. YMCA provided inexpensive housing for low income re <br />shelter program for the homeless, day care program, and so much more. This c <br />centered the needs of the community, now 29 years later, after the closing of N <br />still suffering from the lack of affordable housing, the rise in homelessness, unli <br />lack of programs for the youth. Yet, instead of reinvigorating what was one the <br />many residents it will be a hotel, in the name of profit.
