PROPOSAL <br />Electrical Lighting Design Services for Civic Center Perimeter Lighting <br />RFP No.20-026 <br />Project Approach <br />Our mission at IDS is to deliver a quality project to our clients. To achieve <br />this goal, a carefully thought out plan, in which both client and IDS agree <br />on the project scope and an approach that will result in a successful <br />project. <br />The following is a step by step approach that was outlined in the City of <br />Santa Ana's RFP and that IDS has implemented on many successful <br />projects as well: <br />Task 1: Project Coordination <br />IDS shall be fully responsible forthe overall management and coordination <br />forthe project, which may include, but is not limited to project development <br />team meetings, liaison with affected agencies, and utility companies. IDS <br />will prepare progress reports and schedules, secure permits for all field <br />studies and any other required permits from applicable agencies. <br />Task 2: Preliminary Engineering <br />Streetlight along Santa Ana Boulevard — <br />Typical style around perimeter <br />Preliminary Engineering shall include Kick-off meeting with City Staff to <br />discuss scope of work, project required tasks and objectives, potential elements and issues, and schedule. <br />Preliminary Engineering will also include field work and subsequent <br />meetings with City staff as required for preparation of site plans. <br />Project required tasks include, but may not be limited to: <br />• Analyze, survey and map the existing light inventory around the <br />perimeter. <br />• Identify and map the locations where all of the above ground <br />equipment and light standards will be installed. <br />• Identify where all the underground utilities are located within the <br />project scope to eliminate field conflicts. <br />• Make recommendations of light product options and their rough <br />probable costs for City's consideration and selection. <br />• Analyze the design options, so that City may be able to replace/install <br />the lights in phases if necessary. <br />• Coordinate with City and County of Orange to ensure lights are <br />placed at the desire locations to better serve the Civic Center Super <br />Block. <br />Pedestrian scale lighting pole with streetlight <br />pole along Broadway <br />• Coordinate with Southern California Edison on lights attached to power poles, power source, meter(s), <br />etc. <br />Task 3: Design Development (30% plans) <br />Design development will involve the development of electrical system improvements for the Civic Center <br />perimeter lighting as outlined in the preliminary engineering phase to address project required tasks and <br />shall include preliminary electrical engineering plans and cost estimate. <br />AA IDS GROUP Page s <br />25C-26 <br />
