Authorize the City Manager to execute a one-year grant agreement (PS21042) with the State <br />of California Office of Traffic Safety for Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program funds in an <br />amount not to exceed $100,000, for a one-year period beginning October 1, 2020 and ending <br />September 30, 2021 (timeframe consistent with the grant cycle), subject to non -substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Charitable Ventures of Orange <br />County, Inc. to provide bicycle safety education services for a one-year period beginning <br />October 6, 2020 and ending October 31, 2021, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, subject <br />to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Public Works Agency partnered with Santa Ana Active Streets (SAAS) to develop <br />a custom Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program (Program) for the City of Santa Ana. The Program <br />was submitted by the Public Works Agency in partnership with SAAS to the State of California <br />Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and has been awarded a $100,000 grant (Exhibit 1).
