Orozco, Norma
From:Sean Goodman <seantgoodman@gmail.com>
Sent:Tuesday, October 20, 2020 3:20 PM
To:eComment
Subject:10/20 City Council Meeting, Agenda 85C - Support our Armenian Community Hello,
Hello,

I’m writing to encourage the members of the Council to join Councilman Penaloza and take a stand alongside
the Armenian-American community by denouncing the attacks on Armenians by Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is
responsible for launching an unprovoked war on Artsakh - backed by Turkey and foreign jihadists - that
intentionally and deliberately targets civilians.

Left unchecked, Turkey and Azerbaijan (with a combined population of 100 million) will complete the work of
the Armenian Genocide, the systematic destruction of the world's first Christian nation, a proud modern
democracy of just three million people struggling to survive on the frontier of world freedom.

Over the last 3 weeks the Armenian community has been living a nightmare as they helplessly watched
Azerbaijan with the support of Turkey and the apparent use of Islamic State mercenaries launch full scale
attacks against the civilian population of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the Republic of Armenia. Two
humanitarian ceasefires have been negotiated and then flippantly violated by Azerbaijan. The Armenian
community is worried about the safety and security of their family and friends in Armenia. My fellow Armenian
community members and I are calling on you to take a strong moral stance on this issue without equivocation.

Sincerely,
Sean Goodman
1
