CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2019-45 AND VARIANCE NO. 2019-06 – Jerry <br />Guevara, Case Planner. <br /> <br />LOCATION: 1570 E. 17th Street located in the Arterial Commercial (C-5) zoning district. <br /> <br />REQUEST: The applicant is requesting approval of the following land use entitlements: (1) <br />Conditional Use Permit No. 2019-45 to allow the operation of an adult day care facility, and <br />(2) Variance No. 2019-06 to allow a reduction in required off-street parking. <br /> <br />Case Planner Guevara provided a staff presentation. Commission discussion ensued <br />regarding the parking analysis and mode of transportation for patients and employees. <br /> <br />*Chair McLoughlin left the meeting at 6:57 p.m. and did not return. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Contreras-Leo opened the Public Hearing at 7:02 p.m. The applicant spoke in <br />support of the matter. Applicant indicated that the program is more closely related to a <br />volunteer/activity program for disabled adults rather than an adult day care facility. There <br />were no public speakers and the Public Hearing was closed at 7:17 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTIONS with the added condition that the resolution be modified to accurately <br />reflect the program description: <br /> <br />a. Adopt Resolution No. 2020-03. A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT NO. 2019-45 AS CONDITIONED TO ALLOW THE OPERATION OF AN <br />ADULT DAY CARE FACILITY AT 1570 EAST SEVENTEENTH STREET; and <br /> <br />b. Adopt Resolution No. 2020-04. A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING VARIANCE NO. 2019- <br />06 AS CONDITIONED TO ALLOW A REDUCTION IN REQUIRED OFF-STREET <br />PARKING FOR AN ADULT DAY CARE FACILITY AT 1570 EAST SEVENTEENTH <br />STREET <br />A - 5
