DEMAND that the Planning Commission require physical traffic mitigation andcalming requirements be placed on the project for the benefit of theNeighborhoods. <br /> <br />The Neighborhoods propose the One Broadway Plaza project; <br /> <br />1. Prepare a Master Traffic Mitigation and Calming Plan <br /> <br />2. Master Traffic Mitigation and Calming Plan must have the writtensatisfaction of the City of Santa Ana, and the written satisfaction of theNeighborhoods <br /> <br />3. Will plan, design and construct all physical improvements identified in theMaster Traffic Mitigation and Calming Plan <br /> <br />4. The Master Traffic Mitigation and Calming Plan will include, but not belimited to the following traffic mitigation and calming measures: <br /> <br />* Diverters, including turn restrictions, physical barriers and signage, to stopvehicles at key locations from entering the neighborhoods, and to movevehicle traffic away, and on to larger thoroughfares. <br /> <br />*. Diverters and Calming Measures should include: <br /> <br />· Curb extensions and signage to divert vehicle traffic, and reduce the <br />crossing distance for pedestrians <br /> <br />· Barriers and planters to restrict vehicles while allowing pedestrians <br />and bicycles to pass <br /> <br />· Traffic-calming bumps to encourage safer and more responsible <br />driving, and to combat speeding and unsafe behaviors. <br /> <br />· Roadway striping to slow speeding traffic <br /> <br />· Narrowed roadways to slow traffic on residential streets, and improve <br />pedestrian and bicycle safety. Slower traffic reduces the severity ofaccidents, reduces noise, and improves the livability of residentialstreets.
