City of Santa Ana – The Bowery <br />May 11, 2020 <br />Page 22 of 28 <br /> Limit outdoor lighting requirements; <br /> Reduce unnecessary outdoor lighting by utilizing design features <br />such as limiting the hours of operation of outdoor lighting; <br /> Provide education on energy efficiency to residents, customers, <br />and/or tenants; <br /> Provide information on energy management services for large <br />energy users; <br /> Meet “reach” goals for building energy efficiency and renewable <br />energy use; <br /> Limit the use of outdoor lighting to only that needed for safety and <br />security purposes; <br /> Require use of electric or alternatively fueled sweepers with HEPA <br />filters; <br /> Include energy storage where appropriate to optimize renewable <br />energy generation systems and avoid peak energy use; and <br /> Prohibit gas powered landscape equipment and implement electric <br />yard equipment compatibility. <br />• Transportation-related mitigation: <br /> Provide EV parking; <br /> Require residential area parking permits; <br /> Implement ride-sharing, vanpool, shuttle, bike-sharing programs; <br /> Provide bike parking near transit; <br /> Provide local shuttles; <br /> Implement area or cordon pricing; and <br /> Install a park-and-ride lot. <br />• Water-related mitigation: <br /> Install an infiltration basin to provide an opportunity for 100% of <br />the storm water to infiltrate on-site;
