Staff members have diverse educational backgrounds including <br />accounting, business administration, engineering, and forestry. <br />West Coast Arhorist's (WCA) is a company comprised of a <br />management team and a safety committee. Staff members have <br />diverse educational backgrounds including accounting, business <br />administration, engineering and forestry. <br />VIM IM; <br />WCA actively maintains ongoing processes to assure that only <br />qualified and competent staff provides safe and quality tree <br />maintenance services. These skilled employees can only he achieved <br />through bath training and work experience. We believe that <br />essential experience should always be obtained through qualified <br />supervision; this includes both basic and extended skills. WCA makes <br />every attempt to ensure that this is undertaken before performing <br />work, leading a crew, or career advancement. The work performed <br />on this contract is routine, recurring and usual, The work includes <br />watering, trimming, pruning, planting, ramnval and replacement of <br />trees and plants, and servicing of irrigation. The rates included in <br />the Cost Proposal are based on the current prevailing wage <br />determination for "Tree Maintenance (Laborer)." <br />WCA encourages its employees to get certified through the <br />International Society of Arbariculture, in an effort to raise the <br />standard of professional tree care companies. This standard <br />exemplifies our company's commitment to providing customers with <br />competent, knowledgeable certified workers, WCA employs a large <br />number of ISA Certified Arbarists and ISA Certified Tree Workers. <br />CLEW EVALUATION <br />WCA employees are evaluated through an internal mechanism <br />supervised by our Management Team, Each employee performs their <br />duties according to a criteria -based jab description that reflects <br />safety, quality workmanship, productivity, appropriateness of care, <br />problem solving and customer service. A performance appraisal is <br />conducted for each employee upon completion of the probationary <br />period and at least annually thereafter. Each worker is also required <br />to complete a campatency assessment and orientation upon hire <br />and annually thereafter in selected areas to assure that ongoing <br />requirements are met and opportunities for improvement are <br />idnntified. <br />Page 197 <br />
