The requested funds will help <br />the Bowers attract visitors from Orange County, San Diego County, <br />Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas, providing much needed <br />support from tourists in the drive market. <br />• Increased employment — The requested funds will be allocated to <br />staff payroll, increasing employment opportunities at the museum. <br />The requested funds will also allow the Bowers to employ vendors <br />who live and work in Santa Ana (i.e., utility companies, facility <br />maintenance companies, consultants in the museum field, local <br />artists and artisans). <br />• Increased income distribution — By providing for continued <br />employment of staff, the requested funds allow for the continuation <br />of museum programs and services that generate sales tax revenue <br />for the City of Santa Ana. These tax revenues help maintain the <br />infrastructure the city needs to support continued fiscal growth. <br />• Increased private sector investments & improved fiscal solvency — <br />The City's investment in the Bowers improves the museum's fiscal <br />solvency, which in turn encourages private citizens and foundations <br />to make similar investments through contributions and grants. <br />What are the <br />The requested funds are an important part of the Bowers' resiliency <br />projected impacts if <br />and sustainability plan.
