HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 4 JANUARY 23, 2020 <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />3. STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS: <br /> <br />Executive Director Thai <br /> Commission feedback on draft memo is due on January 29; <br /> Thanked Commission for their preservation efforts; staff is working towards <br />reaching Commission’s goals; and <br /> Thanked Pedro Gomez for drafting the memo. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Fregoso <br /> Announced that Jill Arabe, Senior Planner, will now be working with the <br />Commission. <br /> Provided updates on the YMCA, WisePlace, Old City Hall, Orange County Title <br />Building, Raitt Dairy Building, and Pacific Symphony Building. <br /> <br /> <br />4. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Hitterdale <br /> Thanked staff; and <br /> Welcomed back Commissioner Hardy. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rush <br /> Thanked staff; <br /> Expressed concern with lack of security at the Dr. Julius Crane House; <br /> Announced Modernism Week will take place in Palm Springs on February 17; <br /> Inquired about the Preservation Element of the General Plan Update; <br /> Proposed a resolution of disapproval to a property on Heliotrope; <br /> Indicated that the monument and tree located on 5th street between Sycamore and <br />Broadway needs to be enhanced; and <br /> Expressed concern with impact of Accessory Dwelling Units in historically sensitive <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Commissioner Murashie <br /> Provided update on the Floral Park historic designation; and <br /> Read aloud biography of Phil Brigandi; requested the meeting be adjourned in his <br />memory. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Schaefer <br /> Thanked staff and applicant; and <br /> Welcomed back Commissioner Hardy. <br /> <br /> <br />
