PROPOSAL STANDARD AVENUE PROTECTED BIKE LANES <br />3RD TO WARNER <br />City of Santa Ana <br />We will prepare the traffic signal sheets for locations 1-5 using the topographic survey files, civil <br />improvement files (where applicable), and the as -built plans. Bicycle signal heads and separate phasing are <br />anticipated, in accordance with FHWA Interim Approval 16 (IA-16). Pedestrian improvements will include <br />adjusted push button locations (where needed) based on new curb bulbouts. The traffic signal modification <br />design will include existing equipment to remain, existing equipment to be removed, new equipment to be <br />installed, and the associated notes, details and schedules. <br />The traffic signal modification plans will be prepared in AutoCAD at 1 "=20' scale and will be designed in <br />conformance with CAMUTCD and City requirements. This scope assumes one sheet will be prepared <br />perunidentified intersection. The construction cost estimate will be developed based on recent bid <br />information (if available) for similar projects. We will coordinate with Southern California Edison (SCE) to <br />establish new service for the new signal at Bishop Street and the PHB (location to be determined). Existing <br />service is anticipated to be utilized at locations that are modified only. <br />Traffic signal and lighting plans will be prepared and submitted to the City with civil design plans at the <br />typical milestones (30%, 60%, 90% and 100%). <br />Task 5.4.1. Landscape Plans <br />We feel the landscape design and water treatment plans are highly dependent upon each other to manage <br />water runoff and address aesthetics along the corridor. Therefore, we will prepare a landscape construction <br />documents with specifications for City review. All work will be coordinated with the design team and <br />prepared using AutoCAD. The documents included are: <br />• Irrigation Plan, Legend and Details <br />• Planting Plan, Legend and Details <br />• Special Provision Specifications <br />• Planting and Irrigation Cost Estimates <br />Irrigation Plans, Legend and Details <br />This plan will diagrammatically lay out landscape irrigation piping, valves, control equipment, sprinkler heads <br />and related irrigation equipment for the irrigation of planting areas, at 1 "=20' scale, specifically calling out <br />all pipe and equipment sizing and types; and will include legend and details required to install the irrigation <br />system. A Water Efficient Landscape Worksheet shall be provided inclusive of the Hydrozone information <br />table and Water budget calculations (MAWA, ETWU) as required by City. <br />Planting Plans, Legend and Details <br />This plan will graphically locate and identify planting materials at 1"=20' scale, including specific quantities, <br />sizes and varieties, and will include details and a planting legend to install the plant materials. The palette <br />will include California native or adaptive, drought tolerant plant materials. <br />Task 5.5. Special Provisions <br />Mark Thomas will develop the project technical special provisions using City of Santa Ana and Caltrans <br />Standard Specifications. The special provisions will be prepared using Microsoft Word. Special provisions <br />will be submitted at the 90% and final submittals. The City's Front -End boilerplate contract language will be <br />incorporated into the specifications at the 100% submittal. <br />Task 5.6. Engineer's Estimate <br />Mark Thomas will develop quantities and prepare construction cost estimates using the project geometries <br />and surfaces developed from survey information. Cost estimates will be calculated at the 60%, 90%, and <br />final 100% submittals. <br />
