C. on page 7. <br />Moved by Mayor Pro Tem Penaloza, seconded by Councilmember Phan to <br />Adopt Resolution No. 2021-001 amended with the following modifications: <br />1. Adding language to include white supremacists and neo-Nazis; to Whereas 6 <br />2. Adding a whereas clause discussing the theft of devices and documents <br />compromising national security; and <br />3. Replacing "citizens" with "people" in Section 1. C. on page 7. <br />4. Adding "several hours after the attempted coup by the white supremacists" to <br />Whearas 9. <br />YES: 7 — Bacerra, Hernandez, Lopez, Mendoza, Phan, Penaloza, Sarmiento <br />NO: 0 — ABSTAIN: 0 — ABSENT: 0 — Status: 7 — 0 — Pass <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS — Pursuant to Santa Ana Charter Section 411, any <br />member of the City Council may place items on the City Council Agenda to be <br />considered by the City Council. Only action available to City Council is to provide <br />direction to City Manager. <br />2. Discuss and consider directing City Manager to direct staff to prepare an ordinance or <br />resolution requiring large grocers and pharmacies to provide hazard pay to their <br />employees for a defined period of time during pandemic — Councilmember Phan and <br />Mayor Sarmiento <br />Council provided direction to City staff. <br />ADJOURNMENT — The next meeting of the City Council will be held in a virtual setting and is <br />scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. for the Closed Session Meeting <br />immediately followed by the Regular Open Business Meeting at 5:45 p.m <br />Mayor Sarmiento adjourned the Special City Council meeting in memory of Miriam Lopez <br />and Ray Verches at 7:57 p.m. <br />City Council Meeting 3 01 /12/2021 <br />
