This <br />may include contacting an institution to which you <br />may seek to transfer after attending UEI College <br />to determine if your credits, diploma or certificate <br />will transfer. <br />The school will provide guidance, a transcript, <br />catalog, syllabus and course descriptions for any <br />student interested in transferring to another <br />institution. <br />English as a Second Language (ESL) <br />Instruction and English Language <br />Proficiency Information <br />UEI College does not offer ESL instruction and <br />does not require proof of English language <br />proficiency; however, all instruction will occur in <br />English. Therefore, all students must be able to <br />read, write, speak, understand and communicate <br />in English. <br />Pregnancy <br />The program you enroll in may be physically <br />demanding. As a student in that program, you <br />are expected to participate in all lab sessions to <br />earn lab grades in your modules. Failure to do so <br />will result in a failing grade for the module(s) <br />and/or being dropped from the program. In the <br />event a student is pregnant at time of enrollment <br />or becomes pregnant during the program, the lab <br />requirement will not be waived. The pregnant <br />student must provide a doctor's note of release <br />as a condition to participate in lab work. A <br />pregnant student will not be permitted to <br />participate in the required lab work without a <br />doctor's release. The school will take reasonable <br />steps to accommodate a pregnant student who <br />has provided the school with a doctor's release. <br />Additionally, in the event the baby is delivered <br />during your enrollment period, the school will <br />require a doctor's note of release to return to lab <br />work. A Leave of Absence (LOA) may be granted <br />pursuant to a student's written request and <br />eligibility for a leave; however, the LOA must be <br />approved by the school's administration prior to <br />the leave. <br />Articulation Agreements <br />UEI College does not currently have articulation <br />agreements with other institutions. <br />IEC is contracted with C4L and Brookshire <br />International Academy, which are providers of <br />adult education services to UEI College students <br />that qualify to participate in the Eligible Career <br />Pathway Program. <br />Program 'Tuition and lees <br />There is no registration fee for any program. Any <br />tuition paid will be returned to all students who <br />cancel their enrollment within three (3) business <br />days from the date the enrollment agreement was <br />signed at the following locations: Bakersfield, <br />Fresno, Gardena, Riverside and Sacramento. Tuition and fees are the <br />same for in -state and out-of-state students. <br />Tuition can be paid by any of the following <br />methods: Cash, check, credit, loans, grants or <br />scholarships. Please see the tuition table of this <br />catalog, for your program tuition. <br />*Assessed each month the account remains <br />delinquent. This fee may also be assessed for <br />delinquent institutional and recourse loans. <br />Student Tuition Recovery Fund <br />Disclosure (STRF) <br />The State of California established the Student <br />Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) to relieve or <br />mitigate economic loss suffered by a student in <br />an educational program at a qualifying institution, <br />who is or was a California resident while enrolled, <br />or was enrolled in a residency program, if the <br />student enrolled in the institution, prepaid tuition, <br />and suffered an economic loss. Unless relieved <br />of the obligation to do so, you must pay the state - <br />imposed assessment for the STRF, or it must be <br />paid on your behalf, if you are a student in an <br />educational program, who is a California resident, <br />or are enrolled in a residency program, and <br />prepay all or part of your tuition. <br />
