Families who previously received $3,000through <br />CARES for Tenants are able to re -certify their application and, if eligible, receive an additional $2,500 for a total of <br />$5,500 per household. <br />-The United Way will make $8,892,351.90 in direct financial assistance payments for approximately 2,506 families. <br />Approximately 876 families will receive a payment of $5,500 in direct financial assistance and approximately 1,630 <br />families will re -certify and receive a payment of $2,500 in direct financial assistance. <br />-If a landlord does not agree to accept payment and participate in the program, the United Way will document their <br />outreach to the landlord by sending a request in writing, by mail, to the landlord with a deadline to respond in 14 <br />calendar days or document at least three attempts to contact the landlord by phone, text, or e-mail over a 10 <br />calendar -day period to request the landlord's participation. If the landlord still refuses to participate, the United Way <br />will make the direct financial assistance payment directly to the tenant. <br />-The family's eligibility for direct financial assistance will be established and determined by one of four partner <br />organizations: Families Forward, Catholic Charities of Orange County, The Salvation Army, or Latino Health Access. <br />-The United Way will coordinate with the City, State of California, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and/or any <br />other local partner of LISC to verify that there is not a duplication of benefits of direct financial assistance between the <br />State Allocation and the CITY Allocation. <br />Program Details: <br />-Residents will apply online via the Neighborly Software application available on the City of Santa's website following <br />the CARES for Tenants Program Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions. <br />-Four nonprofit organizations will admnister the tenant eligibility portion of the program, including: <br />application review, eligibility verification, collection of required supporting documentation, <br />communication/coordination with the tenant, coordination with the tenant's landlord for the tenant's lease/sublease <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
