agreement and rent amount, and general qua litication and eligibility otthe tenant <br />-The four nonprofit organizations will ensure that each tenant is qualified and determined eligible In compliance with <br />Section 501 of Division N of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, the Department of Treasury's Frequently <br />Asked Questions, and the CARES for Tenants Program Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions established for the <br />Program. <br />-Afterthe family is determined eligible, the assigned nonprofit organization will approve the family for direct financial <br />assistance. The City of Santa Ana will then transmit the applicant's information to the United Way of OC who will <br />make payment to the Landlord or tenant after all required landlord documentation/Information is received by the <br />United Way. <br />-The United Way will conduct all landlord engagement in order to make the payment on behalf of the nonprofit <br />organization that approved the applicant for direct financial assistance including: <br />obtain the landlord's W-9, confirm that the landlord's name matches the name on the applicant's original application <br />and lease/sublease agreement, maintain and record all payment documentation to the landlord or tenant (proof of <br />payment via ACH or copy of the check), written notification by email to the landlord and service provider that payment <br />has been made on behalf of the tenant and must be applied to the tenant's retroactive rent first. <br />-If a landlord refuses to participate, make reasonable efforts to obtain the cooperation of the landlord to accept <br />payments from the CARES for Tenants Program. <br />-United Way will provide weekly updates to the City and to the four nonprofit organizations regarding payments to <br />landlords and tenants. <br />-ERAP funding will be used for $8,892,351.90 in direct financial assistance and $197,608.10 in administrative <br />expenses. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
