In this course students will learn to <br />nurture appropriate and effective co-worker relationships Including the <br />importance of protecting confidentiality of patients and co-workers. <br />Students will learn to work effectively in teams in the healthcare <br />environment as well as how to locate potential externship and employment <br />opportunities. Conflict in the healthcare environment is discussed as well as <br />methods of managing and resolving conflict. Basic skills for recognizing illegal <br />drug use are presented and students will understand and be able to <br />appropriately respond to triggers for special needs patients. <br />CPS01014: Career Path Success D <br />Credit Hours: 0.50 Clock Hours: 15 (Theory 15) (Online 15) <br />In this Career Path Success course students will learn and practice many of <br />the soft skills needed to be successful in a healthcare career. Students will <br />learn about helpful tips for short- and long-term career planning, as well as <br />accountability in the workplace. Students will learn how to locate potential <br />externship and employment opportunities. Additionally, students will <br />practice creating a resume, discuss important interview tips, and learn about <br />the importance of interview follow-up. It focuses on history, composition, <br />properties, and uses of materials, as well as techniques of manipulation and <br />how this assists the hygienist in a professional capacity.
