In this course, the student wlII learn basic concepts related to organic and <br />biochemistry. Topics will include spectroscopy, nomenclature, properties and <br />synthesis of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols, <br />carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids, Ilpids, amino acids, nucleotide <br />metabolic pathways, and the structure and function of nucleic acids.
