DocuSign Envelope ID: 85358FB7-CDFA-44C1-B966-DFDA4354188B <br />Media Arts Santa Ana Millennial Producers Academy (MILPA) <br />Details of Innovation in Program/Service Delivery <br />The creative team leading MILPA have extensive experience designing public festivals and youth <br />media classes. As founders of United Artists of Santa Ana, they were instrumental in developing <br />advocacy strategies and programs that led to the creation of the Santa Ana Arts Commission, <br />inclusion of artists as a preferred class for affordable housing, the Santa Ana Investing in the <br />Artist Grant, and the Santa Ana Arts Master Plan. <br />Because of its digital design and the unique experience set of the creative team, the Millennial <br />Producers Academy can be delivered effectively as either an in -person or virtual class. Due to <br />the shutdown related to the COVID pandemic, the 2020 Millennial Producers Academy was <br />quickly converted from an in -person class to a virtual class on Zoom. We will use this <br />experience to deliver high quality instruction with the most access and equity as possible. <br />The combination of pre -produced videos, live instruction, video production assignments and <br />viewing of aesthetically -significant films on Kanopy allows for one-on-one mentoring and the <br />development of a deep and well-rounded understanding and passion for the creativity, <br />relevance and power of media arts production and lifelong arts participation. The production of <br />the online instructional videos is also innovative as it will provide the foundation for offering <br />more classes to the community next at a lower cost. <br />As we anticipate that Santa Ana's primarily immigrant community will continue to face serious <br />challenges to their well-being during the pandemic, we are excited by MILPA's potential to <br />create a mechanism for cross -sector "digital response teams" to address the real -world <br />challenges to MASA's constituent community and partner organizations. <br />We hope that you will consider the Millennial Producers' Academy for support. Funding from <br />the City of Santa Ana Youth Programs and Services RFP will provide critical resources needed to <br />implement the MILPA program and begin connecting and transforming our community via the <br />power and promise of digital media. We will be fundraising to continue the program for 2022, <br />and support from the City of Santa Ana will allow us to produce critical support materials and <br />documentation for future grants, so that we can continue to offer the Millennial Producers <br />Academy as a free program to Santa Ana residents. The proposed budget includes a total of 16 <br />videos and 24 class sessions. We believe this is an effective number to provide broad access, <br />and can scale it to include more or fewer classes to accommodate for budgetary considerations, <br />if necessary. <br />Fee $15,000 <br />15 <br />
