CITY COUNCIL REGULAR OPEN SESSION <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />MINUTES: Mayor Sarmiento called the Regular Open Session meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />MINUTES: Clerk of the Council conducted roll call. All councilmembers were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Sarmiento <br />INVOCATION Pastor Tommy Cota <br />CEREMONIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />2. Proclamation presented by Councilmember Bacerra naming March as Youth Art Month. <br />3. Certificate of Recognition presented by Councilmember Mendoza to Birdwell Beach <br />Britches for Outstanding Contributions to the Community. <br />4. Certificate of Recognition presented by Councilmember Lopez and Councilmember <br />Hernandez to Tish Leon for Outstanding Contributions to the Community. <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT — The City Attorney will report on any action(s) from Closed <br />Session. <br />MINUTES: Mayor Sarmiento announced that council will be reconvening to Closed Session after <br />the Open Session has concluded. <br />STAFF PRESENTATIONS <br />5. COVID-19 Update in the Community. <br />MINUTES: City Manager Kristine Ridge provided a brief COVD-19 update on: <br />• Health equity <br />• Vaccinations, and <br />• Direct assistance for renters and small business owners <br />6. Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District presentation on Mosquitoes in <br />Orange County <br />MINUTES: Lora Young, Director of Communications with Orange County Mosquito and <br />Vector Control District, provided a brief presentation. <br />7. National Fitness Campaign Presentation <br />MINUTES: Executive Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Agency Lisa Rudloff <br />introduced Trent Manthias, Director of the National Fitness Campaign, who provided a brief <br />presentation. <br />City Council 5 3/2/2021 <br />
