<br />Students will be treated in a manner conducive to maintaining their worth and dignity. Students shall be free from acts or
<br />threats of intimidation, harassment, mockery, insult, or physical aggression.
<br />S• Students will be free from the imposition of disciplinary sanctions without proper regard for due process. Formal
<br />procedures have been instituted to ensure all students subjected to the disciplinary process are adequately notified.
<br />B• When confronted with perceived injustices, students may seek redress through grievance procedures outlined in the
<br />Grievance Policy. Such procedures will be available to those students who make their grievances known in a timely
<br />manner.
<br />•A Students may take reasoned exception to the data or views offered in any course of study and may form their own
<br />judgement, but they are responsible for learning the academic content of any course in which they are enrolled.
<br />Students will be given full disclosure and an explanation by the college of all fees and financial obligations
<br />•v Students have the right and responsibility to participate in course and instructor evaluations and to give constructive
<br />criticism of the services provided by the college.
<br />❖ Students have the right to quality education. This right includes quality programs; appropriate instructional
<br />methodologies and content; instructors who have sufficient educational qualifications and practical expertise in the areas
<br />of instruction; the availability of adequate materials, resources, and facilities, to promote the practice and application of
<br />theory; and an environment that stimulates creativity in learning as well as personal and professional growth.
<br />•:• Students have the responsibility to conduct themselves in a professional manner within the institutional,
<br />externship/practicum, clinical, and lab settings, and to abide by the policies of the college.
<br />Students are expected to conduct all relationships with their peers, college staff and faculty, and anyone with whom they
<br />come into contact at externship/practicum/clinical/fieldwork sites, with honesty and respect.
<br />❖ Students are to comply with directions by college faculty and staff members who are acting within the scope of their
<br />employment, subject to their rights and responsibilities.
<br />❖ Students have the right and responsibility to develop personally through opportunities such as formal education, work
<br />and volunteer experiences, extracurricular activities, and involvement with others.
<br />❖ Students are encouraged to apply creativity in their own learning processes while striving for academic excellence, and to
<br />share their knowledge and learning experiences with fellow students in the interest greater learning and better practice of
<br />the profession.
<br />STUDENTCONDUCT
<br />The College is proud of its academic standards and code of student conduct. In today's competitive job market, professional
<br />conduct is a crucial factor in obtaining and retaining employment. Emphasis is continually placed on regular attendance,
<br />promptness, honesty, and a positive attitude. Students will be held responsible to holding a high level of conduct. The
<br />following are violations while at the College, externship/practicum/clinical, or fieldwork property:
<br />❖ All forms of dishonesty including cheating, plagiarism, forgery, and intent to defraud through falsification, alteration, or
<br />misuse of the College's documents. Examples of dishonesty and/or plagiarism include, but are not limited to, copying
<br />work or written text from any source, including the internet, without properly crediting the source of information;
<br />cheating during an examination and/or coursework in any form; and completing and submitting an assignment partially
<br />or wholly originated by another person.
<br />Theft, deliberate destruction, damage, misuse, or abuse of college property or the private property of individuals
<br />associated with the college.
<br />Inappropriate or profane behavior that causes a disruption of teaching, research, administration, disciplinary
<br />proceedings, or other college activities.
<br />❖ Being under the influence of alcoholic beverages or controlled substances on college or externship/practicum, clinical,
<br />or fieldwork property, including the purchase, consumption, possession, or sale of such items.
<br />❖ The use of any tobacco products including electronic devices in the college's buildings and eating or drinking in the
<br />classrooms, or any location other than the designated areas.
<br />Failure to comply with college officials acting within the scope of their employment responsibilities.
<br />Bringing animals on to college or externship/practicum, clinical, or fieldwork property. No animals are allowed on the
<br />premises unless they are assisting the physically impaired or are being used as classroom subjects.
<br />Bringing children into the college's academic areas. The college does not provide childcare services and cannot assume
<br />responsibility for children's health and safety.
<br />Failure to comply with all emergency evacuation procedures, disregarding safety practices, tampering with fire protection
<br />equipment, or violation of any other health and safety rules or regulations.
<br />Failure to comply with any regulation not contained in official college publications but announced as an administrative
<br />policy by a college official or other person authorized by the Campus Director/CEO of the college.
<br />Bringing dangerous items such as explosives, firearms, or other weapons, either concealed or exposed, onto the college's
<br />property or externship/practicum, clinical, or fieldwork property.
<br />❖ Violence or threats of violence toward persons or property of students, faculty, staff, or the college.
