The total cost of attending Advanced College includes tuition and fees, room and board, <br />books, supplies, personal expenses, and transportation. <br />Advanced College participates in several federal and state financial assistant programs listed below: <br />4• Federal Pell Grant <br />4- California Student Aid Grant <br />B• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant <br />Federal Work Study <br />❖ Federal Direct Stafford Loan Programs <br />A Federal Direct Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) <br />For the Financial Aid Department to determine if a student qualifies for financial aid, his or her income and asset information <br />must be processed according to the Department of Education needs analysis calculation. Financial aid is available to U.S. <br />citizens and eligible non -citizens. Advanced College helps to provide financial aid assistance for students who are recent high <br />school graduates, transfers from another post -secondary institution, veterans, and re-entry students. Advanced College <br />maintains a varied financial assistance program in order to meet the needs of all students. Advanced College institutional <br />eligibility to administer Title IV funds (financial aid) extends to all the programs listed in this catalog, except for the <br />Phlebotomy Certificate program. <br />ACADEMIC YEAR <br />2019/2020 (July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020) complete the 2019/202o FAFSA immediately. The 2019/202o FAFSA <br />will collect 2017 tax information for the student and parent(s), if determined to be a dependent student by the FAFSA. <br />2012/2021 (July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021) complete the 2020/2021 FAFSA immediately. The 2020/2021 FAFSA <br />will collect 2018 tax information for the student and parent(s), if determined to be a dependent student by the FAFSA. This <br />application will be available October 1, 2oi9. <br />Students are required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who complete the FAFSA <br />will be considered for the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Cal <br />Grant (State grant), Federal Direct Stafford Loan, as well as the Federal Work Study (FWS) programs. <br />STEP 1 — Complete the FAFSA <br />The FAFSA may be completed as early as October of the year the student plans to enroll — students should not wait until <br />applying or enrollment. The 2020/2021 FAFSA will be available October 1, 2019 for the 2020/2021 award year. Students <br />are encouraged to file the FAFSA online at www.fafsa ed eov. The Federal School Code for each campus location is as <br />followed: <br />South Gate Campus — 037863 <br />Stockton Campus — E40455 <br />Salida Campus — E40488 <br />FAFSA application assistance is available in the Financial Aid Department during regular business hours. <br />After completion of the FAFSA application the process is as follows: <br />1. The student will need to meetwith the FinancialAid Department at the Campus location. <br />2. The student and the Financial Aid Officer will carefully review the FASFA application to determine if additional <br />supporting documentation will be required. A percentage of financial aid applicants are selected for verification <br />based on edit checks which identify inconsistencies and/or potential errors. Advanced College must also verify any <br />application the college has reason to believe is incorrect or reflects discrepancies. If the student estimates any of <br />his/her income information, the student may be required to verify his/her actual income prior to any disbursements <br />of federal funds. <br />3. The student returns the requested documentation to the Financial Aid Department. <br />34 <br />
