limited to any of the prohibited conduct described herein, will be treated under the Student Conduct section of this catalog <br />and may result in disciplinary action up to and including permanent dismissal from the college. <br />Audio or video recording of any class or lecture offered at the college or at its externship/practicum, clinical, or fieldwork <br />sites is not permitted, unless otherwise allowed on an individual basis due to an accommodation under the Americans with <br />Disabilities Act. <br />OWNERSHIP OF STUDENT AND THIRD -PARTY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY <br />The College recognizes an author/inventor's ownership in his or her creative intellectual property. The college also <br />encourages scholarship and research opportunities, many of which may result in the creation of intellectual property in the <br />form of research papers, publications, or supplemental course materials such as lecture notes, bibliographies, additional <br />assignments, and other non -institutional course content. <br />All full-time and part-time students at the college own the exclusive rights to the intellectual property they create, except <br />under any of the following circumstances: <br />t. The intellectual property is created as a result of material support from the college, which for this purpose is defined <br />as significant financial support directly or indirectly from the college, use of the college facilities beyond the normal <br />curricula, or any other significant expenditure of resources by the college beyond what is customary among higher <br />education institutions; or <br />z. The student and the college enter into an agreement regarding ownership of the intellectual property; or <br />3. The student creates the intellectual property in conjunction with a faculty member or other employee of the college. <br />The college will own any and all rights to intellectual property created by third parties for use by the college; any other <br />allocation of rights between the college and the third party must be defined in a written agreement between the parties. <br />33 <br />
