Medical Billing 45 <br />45/4-5 <br />Healthcare <br />COURSE DESCRIPTIONS: <br />45/4.5 <br />45/4.5 <br />ENG iio — Composition and Rhetoric I — This course is designed to teach and improve students' composition skills with <br />emphasis on the process of learning to develop fluency through many free writing exercises and other writing activities as well as <br />express thoughts clearly using simple and compound sentences. <br />ENG 120 — Composition and Rhetoric II — This course provides continued emphasis on English Composition skills. This <br />class is designed to train students in more complicated essay writing and critical analysis. The course emphasizes the complete <br />paper as opposed to simple paragraphing and usage. In addition, students will write more complex essays with clarity and a well - <br />organized trend of thought with emphasis on the proper usage of sentence construction. A research paper is required. Rules of <br />research papers and styles of writing are reviewed. <br />PSY 110 Principles of Psychology — This course introduces the principles and mechanics with emphasis on the individual as <br />a reacting organism; hereditary and functional basis of behavior and means of perception. Topics include: science of psychology; <br />life stages; personality; emotions, stress, and anxiety; abnormal behavior; and perception learning. <br />SOC iio — Introduction to Sociology — The course is an introductory course to Sociology. Topics covered include sociological <br />theory and methods of sociological inquiry, cultural development, the process of socialization, social structure and the functions of <br />the social system. <br />PHL 1io (A) — Critical Thinking — This course is an introduction to critical thinking. Topics include: skills and techniques of <br />reasoning and argumentations. <br />CS ioo — Introduction to Computers — This course is designed to provide the student with a background in the study of <br />fundamental computer terminology, hardware and software concepts. <br />55 <br />
