Tanaka, CAC, Lead Certified <br />Principal Environmental Scientist <br />I Converse Consultants <br />Education <br />Professional Experience <br />BS, Biology, California state <br />Laura Tanaka has 29 years of wide ranging and diverse experience in environmental <br />Polytechnic university, Pomona, <br />consulting and management. <br />1987 <br />Project Experience <br />Registrations/ <br />Certifications <br />Laura's experience includes: <br />Cal/OSHA Asbestos Consultant, <br />Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments — Laura has completed and/or <br />No. 11-4708 <br />supervised thousands of Phase I and II pre -acquisition site assessments in CA, AZ, OR, <br />CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor, <br />NM and WA. Properties assessed have included residential, commercial, and industrial <br />Project Monitor, and Designer, <br />uses, as well as undeveloped land consisting of hundreds to thousands of acres. <br />No. 3086 <br />Preliminary Endangerment Assessments — Generated scoping documents, completed <br />Manufacturer's Certification in <br />field work, and report generation for various PEAS. In addition, Laura has also provided <br />the use of the RMD, EDAX, and <br />project management and field support for Supplemental Site Investigations and <br />Niton XRF devices <br />Removal Action Workplans for local school districts. <br />40- Hour OSHA Safety Training <br />Asbestos, Lead -base Paint, & Mold Services — She has performed surveys and <br />8- Hour OSHA Supervisor Training <br />abatement monitoring services for municipalities, financial institutions, property <br />management companies, school districts, and the U.S. Navy. Laura has also conducted <br />asbestos and mold awareness training classes. <br />Third Party Reviews & Consultation — Laura routinely reviews documents/reports for <br />clients and provides comments on the appropriateness of the due diligence and <br />recommendations. <br />Project Management— Experienced managing projects that have timeframes as little as <br />two days to as long as four to five years. Also includes responding to emergency <br />projects. <br />Other experience includes hazardous material audits, completing business plans, <br />SCAQMD permitting, supervising hazardous material pickups and maintaining <br />hazardous materials databases. <br />Regulatory Agency Experience — Laura has project management experience working <br />with regulatory agencies which include the Department of Toxic Substances Control, <br />Regional Water Quality Control Boards, Air Pollution Control Districts including the <br />South Coast Air Quality Management District, as well as local county agencies such as <br />the Orange County Health Care Agency and Los Angeles County, Department of Public <br />Works, and agencies located in central and northern California. <br />Laura was instrumental in the development of the Converse's standard report and <br />proposal formats for Phase I and II ESAs, Transaction Screens, Asbestos, Lead, and <br />Fungal assessments, which has been implemented throughout the corporation. Laura <br />also developed and implemented the use of various report checklists and spreadsheets <br />for consistency in the Q4/QC report review process and project budgeting. She is <br />currently responsible for the day to day activities of the Costa Mesa environmental <br />office and she is also the client manager of some of Converse's established public and <br />private clients. <br />Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments <br />Laura has conducted and managed thousands of Phase I and II ESAs, and Transaction <br />Screen Process (TSP) reports for a variety of clients and properties.
