Discarded Materials preparation and separation procedures. <br />F. Disposal of Contaminated Materials. If the Contractor observes visible Prohibited <br />Container Contaminants in a Customers Source Separated Organic Waste <br />Container or Source Separated Recyclable Materials Container, Contractor may <br />Dispose of the Container's contents at the Designated Disposal Facility provided <br />Contractor complies with the noticing requirements in Section 5.5.1.1.0 above. <br />5.5.1.2 On -Going Contamination Monitoring by Route Personnel <br />Contractor shall assist on an ongoing basis in minimizing contamination by helping to <br />educate Customers on acceptable and non -acceptable materials through ongoing <br />education and outreach efforts and through on -going monitoring of the contents of <br />Collection Containers. The ongoing Container monitoring shall be performed by <br />Contractor using the method described in Section 5.5.1. <br />Contractor may refuse Collection of Refuse, Recyclables, or Organic Waste from <br />Customers under the following circumstances: (i) the material is not Source Separated <br />from other Discarded Materials or Excluded Waste; (ii) access is blocked or inhibited by <br />vehicles or other obstacles; or, (iii) the material is commingled with Prohibited <br />Container Contaminants. In the event Contractor does not Collect the Refuse, <br />Recyclable Materials, or Organic Waste from a Customer for any of these reasons, <br />Contractor shall leave a non -collection notice for the Customer recording at a minimum <br />the date, Customer location, and an explanation as to why the materials were not <br />Collected. Contractor is required to retain photographic evidence of all instances of <br />non -collection. <br />5.5.1.3 Prescribed Contamination Monitoring <br />A. Methodology and Frequency <br />Commencing on July 1, 2022, the Contractor shall, at its sole expense, conduct <br />Contractor route reviews for Prohibited Container Contaminants in Containers <br />in a manner that is deemed safe by the Contractor; is approved by the City; and <br />is conducted in a manner that results in all Contractor routes being reviewed <br />annually or more frequently. <br />August 17, 2021 105 City of Santa Ana <br />
