Civil Inspector, Fullerton Road Grade Separation, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments <br />(SGVCOG)/Alameda Corridor -East Construction Authority (ACE), City of Industry, CA. Berg & Associates, <br />Inc. May 2019 —Jul. 2019. Mike served as Civil Inspector for this $84 million grade separation project in the <br />City of Industry that involves over 14,000 feet of railroad track construction, over 10,000 feet of retaining <br />wall construction, 3 bridges structures (UPRR, roadway, and pedestrian), and an extensive, deep sewer and <br />storm drain with dewatering measures. This complex 5-stage project has 19 phases that require the closure <br />of the City's main thoroughfare while Fullerton Road is lowered under the existing UPRR tracks and a four - <br />track railroad bridge is built. <br />Lead Inspector, Water Main Improvements on Cedar Street & Walnut Avenue, City of El Segundo, El <br />Segundo, CA. Berg & Associates, Inc. 2018-2019. Mike served as Lead Inspector for the replacement of <br />existing pipeline with new ductile iron pipe from 8 - 12 inches in diameter. The project included laying of <br />new pipe, installation of gate valves, fire hydrants, meters, air relief valves and associated laterals as well <br />as connections to existing systems, chlorination, flushing, pressure testing, and reconstruction of the <br />trench and roadway to final grade. Mike oversaw the contractor's daily activities, monitored contractor <br />schedule and provided issue -resolutions in the field. <br />Lead Inspector, N. Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction Project, City of Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills, <br />CA. Berg & Associates, Inc. Aug. 2017 —Jul. 2019. Mike served as Inspector for the widening of N. Santa <br />Monica Boulevard between Dohney Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, including 22 road intersections of <br />varying size from major intersections to residential street junctions. Features include relocation and <br />upgraded traffic control signals, installation of ADA access upgrades, new landscaping designed for water <br />conservation, implementation of low impact drainage concepts complying with urban runoff water quality <br />regulations and Installation of new street lighting system on the north side of N. Santa Monica Boulevard. <br />Construction Manager, FY 2015/2016 Annual Water Main Replacement Project, City of Santa Monica, <br />Santa Monica, CA. Berg & Associates, Inc Jan. 2017 — Jul. 2027. 100% Mike served as the Construction <br />Manager for Berg for the City of Santa Monica's $1.5 million annual water main replacement project. Mike <br />provided oversight for the replacement of a water main running down Ocean Avenue, replacement of <br />connecting lines and repaving of the street at completion. In this role, he worked closely with the <br />contractor, designer, and City staff to coordinate all contract activities and provided inspection of the work. <br />Given the close proximity to the beach and the dense urban environment where the project is located, <br />Mike had a significant role in managing the interface between the project and the public to make sure that <br />pedestrians are safe and traffic impacts are minimized. <br />Construction Superintendent, W.A. Rasic, Long Beach, CA. 2005 — 2016. Mike supervised various public <br />and private water, sewer and storm drain projects. He planned and organized personnel, equipment and <br />material for construction, helped with construction cost estimation, interpreted construction plans and <br />corresponded with owners, engineers and the project team to provide solutions avoiding critical path <br />items. Mike also ensured worker and public safety during construction, prepared and compiled record as- <br />builts after construction completion and coordinated with USA Digalert, Caltrans, Los Angeles County <br />Department of Public Works, OSHA, Fire Authorities, Railroad Authorities, Federal, State, and Local <br />Agencies. <br />• Construction Superintendent responsible for upgrade and repair of the water systems and <br />emergency services. Projects involved utilization of various shoring systems and extensive traffic <br />control measures. Mike worked closely with local businesses and community leaders to ensure <br />minimal impact to residents and businesses and provided pre -construction input during design and <br />coordination for construction inspection of numerous large and small diameter treatment plant <br />JX1 Berg & Associates Inc. <br />
