Adan Alvarez, Communication Director with Teamsters Local 396, expressed <br />concerns with Athens Services. <br />Ron Herrera, Principal Officer and Union Member With Teamsters Local 396, <br />encouraged council to make decision based on people and the social aspects of <br />the City and support CR&R, Waste Management, or Republic Services. <br />Ron Ovadia resident of Redondo Beach spoke in support of Athens Services. <br />Chad England resident of West Hollywood spoke in support of Athens Services. <br />Rene A. Martinez Athens Services employee spoke in support of company. <br />Courtney Calderon expressed concern with lack of union, public safety, and quality <br />jobs for selection. <br />Oscar Mendoza employed with Waste Management spoke in support of company. <br />Walter Robert, Senior District Manager with Waste Management, thanked city, staff, <br />and employees for the past years. <br />Desi Reyes expressed concerns with Waste Management's services. <br />Steve Lopez, Operations Manager with Republic Services, spoke in support of <br />company. <br />Delfino Roa employed with Waste Management expressed concern with working <br />with non -unionized companies and in spoke in support of Waste Management <br />Victor Mendez expressed concern with the rates and lack of quality of life for the <br />residents. <br />Clerk of the Council Daisy Gomez reported out on correspondence received prior to <br />hearing public comments via Zoom. <br />George Will, Ward 3 resident, expressed concern with procurement process of <br />vendors. <br />Dave Elliott, President and CEO of Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, spoke in <br />support of Waste Management. <br />Rahinna Pacheco expressed concern with climate change and the importance a <br />waste hauler in close proximity. <br />City Council 23 8/17/2021 <br />
