Redistricting Coalition. <br />Veronica Garcia spoke in support of maps submitted by Santa Ana Redistricting Coalition. <br />Spoke in opposition of map F. <br />Cesar Medina spoke in support of maps SARC1A and SARC2A. <br />Vincent Tran community leader with VietRise spoke in support of maps SARC1 and SARC2. <br />Urged council to pass SARC1 or SARC2. <br />BUSINESS CALENDAR <br />1. Presentation of Public Testimony and Draft Maps, City Council Consideration and <br />Direction Regarding Draft Maps <br />Department(s): Clerk of the Council Office <br />Recommended Action: Seeking input regarding the content of the draft map(s). <br />MINUTES: Council discussion ensued and input provided to staff and Redistricting <br />Partners consultant Paul Mitchell. <br />Councilmember Mendoza spoke in support of map F and moved to approve. Seconded <br />by Mayor Pro Tem Bacerra. <br />Councilmember Phan spoke in support of map K and moved a substitute motion to <br />adopt map K. Seconded by Councilmember Penaloza. <br />Paul Mitchell inquired for a starting point and some direction to assist council in <br />selecting a map from eligible maps including SARC1, SARC1A, SARC2, and SARC2A. <br />Noted that he can make changes to the maps council just voted on or make changes to <br />the SARC maps. <br />Councilmember Penaloza requested that all maps be labeled with letters and drop the <br />acronyms to be consistent. <br />Paul Mitchell in support of creating maps with next alpha letter such as: F, K, L and M. <br />Councilmember Lopez motioned to bring back map J and seconded by Mayor <br />Sarmiento. Consultant Paul Mitchell noted it's technically map J2. <br />Mayor Sarmiento requested from the Chief Assistant City Attorney to circulate Rules of <br />Decorum to council. <br />City Council Minutes 3 03/07/2022 <br />
