Vocational Program Structure, Method of Instruction, Credit Hours, Grading and Evaluation <br />For the above vocational programs the following program structure, methods of Instruction and <br />credit hours are described below. <br />Program Structure <br />Vocational programs generally include classroom didactic learning and skills laboratory. The <br />classroom didactic may be online or at a physical location, and includes lectures, directed class <br />discussion, audio-visual aids, overhead transparencies, demonstrations, role-playing, and skill <br />competency evaluation. The skills laboratory may be live laboratory or simulation software. <br />The skills laboratory is based on either a checklist of skills -based competency or a set of <br />activities for a simulation software. <br />Methods of Instruction <br />Vocational programs may be offered in four different methods of instruction. <br />Students enrolled will be directed during the admissions and orientation to the <br />instructional method for their scheduled classes. <br />o 100% classroom based is all class lectures and learning materials are held on <br />campus, taught synchronously with the instructor. <br />o Hybrid includes online and/or in -person lectures, quizzes, homework, other <br />assessments, simulations clinical, and/or live skills laboratory, where applicable, to <br />learn essential hands-on skills. <br />o 100% online is all class lectures and learning materials are held online, taught <br />synchronously and/or asynchronously with the instructor. This includes <br />asynchronous on -demand course materials. <br />o Correspondence method is that all course materials are mailed to the student or <br />provided online, and the student works independently at the student's pace. <br />Assessments are completed as paper based or online. <br />GMCCatalog-220101v4 47 <br />
