On October 11 th, the Child Care Commission met for its
regularly scheduled meeting. By that time; Mai had
already admitted to IPD that he had bragged on social
media of this nefarious crime.
This development was significant as it constituted an
official admission by Mai. Still, nobody in the City of
Irvine thought it important to notify the Child Care
Commission.
One of the agenda items for October's meeting was the
reappointment of Mai for another two years.
The motion was came on and was passed by majority
vote. Mai's term, previously set to expire on Dec 31 st of
this year; has now been extended for another two years.
We are trying to ascertain if the Committee members
who voted in favor would have done so had they known
of the voluminous emails sent to the City, or had they
known of the existence of the investigation. Most
importantly, they weren't informed of the pending
investigations nor Mai's admission.
