MEETING EXPEDITED DEADLINES. We understand that on -call tasks are often driven by unanticipated
challenges that require expedited solutions —and time and time again, we have provided value in such
cases. Our clients' satisfaction is best demonstrated through our high rate of repeat clients and renewed
contracts. Our experienced professionals look forward to the continued opportunity to assist the City
with their project needs. Our proactive approach to identifying and understanding major project issues,
developing solutions, and finding cost -saving opportunities will improve quality and streamline budgets.
MANAGING RESOURCES. Kimley-Horn utilizes thorough planning, coordination, and supervision of our
key technical subconsultants by assigning a quality control manager to evaluate workflow, procedures,
and technical direction. Our staff carefully review the work activities performed by our project partners.
Overview of Relevant Service Areas
Our team is experienced with each of the service areas requested in the City's scope of work. Below, we
have included a brief description of our capabilities to provide those services.
Landscape Architecture
From the revitalization of community parks to the design
and implementation of downtown streetscapes, we
have successfully planned and implemented scores of
landscape architecture projects. Kimley-Horn has a well-
earned reputation for combining creative ideas, technical
excellence, and client collaboration, resulting in dynamic
projects that blend into their environments and become
a part of the area they inhabit. Our landscape architects
have a diverse range of experience from corridor
plans and downtown streetscape programs to parks
and recreation planning. As metropolitan urban areas
continue to grow, urban design, streetscape design, and landscape architecture have become integral
components of roadway and transportation system designs and infrastructure improvements in general.
Revitalizing commercial districts, controlling traffic flows, and providing recreational areas and pedestrian
and bicycle facilities in increasingly congested areas are some of the solutions designed by our landscape
architects and planners. Our full -service consulting includes feasibility studies, master planning, design,
permitting, public participation and consensus building, and construction administration.
Urban Forestry
Most development projects are impacted by trees.
Both existing and proposed trees are often mandated
by codes, ordinances, or the motivation of the client to
preserve trees. At Kimley-Horn, our consulting arborists
specialize in providing detailed design, specifications,
and observation reports regarding trees as they relate to
development. Our understanding of trees, construction,
and the development process, along with our knowledge
of codes and ordinances, results in permitted projects that
best represent the intent of our clients. Services include
canopy coverage analysis, protected grand/heritage/
champion tree observations, tree condition evaluations,
tree preservation/protection compliance, tree removal/ permitting assistance, and tree hazard evaluations.
Understanding the needs of trees as they relate to soil biology and volume allows us to create site -specific
planting details and specifications for your project. This can reduce infrastructure damage and ongoing
maintenance costs. Our arborists work closely with our landscape architects to provide planting details,
City of Santa Ana • LPOC77002.2023
Kimley>»Horn 6
