TUITION POLICIES <br />TUITION AND FEE POLICIES <br />Tuition varies for each program depending upon its length and the cost to provide the training. Specific <br />charges for tuition, fees and supplies maybe found on the course description pages for each individual course. <br />Prospective students who wish to assess the appropriateness of program length, tuition and fees of Brownson <br />Technical School courses relative to others in this industry may do so by obtaining a listing from ACCSC. <br />Prospective students may call or write the ACCSC office (see page 14 for address and telephone number) to <br />review the member directory of all member ACCSC schools containing this information and assess for <br />themselves the appropriateness of program length, tuition and fees. All financial arrangements are required to <br />be made prior to the start of class. Students participating in the school's monthly payment plan are expected to <br />make timely payments. Failure to make payments on time may result in termination. <br />The school charges the same tuition and fees to each student regardless of their legal state of residence. <br />Covered individuals with education assistance under chapter 30, 31, or 33 of Title 38-Veterans Benefits who <br />are pursuing a course at this institution and California is not their state of legal residence, will not be charged a <br />rate higher than the rate the institution charges California residents for the same course. <br />FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE <br />Brownson Technical School offers students several options for payment of tuition. All students are encouraged <br />to apply for financial assistance if unable to meet educational costs on their own. Brownson Technical School <br />participates in several types of Title IV programs, most of which are based on financial need. Students seeking <br />financial assistance must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, available in the financial <br />aid office. The schools Financial Aid Office uses this form to determine students' eligibility and assist them in <br />deciding what resources are best suited to their circumstances. Depending upon program length, student <br />eligibility, and need, the amount of available Title IV funding varies. The following criteria are used in <br />determining student eligibility: <br />➢ Financial need <br />➢ High school graduation or its equivalent or proof of enrollment in an eligible postsecondary program <br />prior to July 1, 2012 and pass a nationally recognized ability to benefit test <br />➢ Satisfactory academic progress towards graduation <br />➢ Registration with selective service when 18 - 25 years old (if required by law) <br />➢ Valid SSN <br />➢ Status as -a U.S. citizen or eligible non citizen <br />➢ Enrollment in an eligible program with regular student status <br />➢ Signature on a statement that financial aid will be used for educational purposes <br />➢ Signature on a statement that student is not in default or owes a refund for previous federal student <br />loan/grant <br />Federal Direct Stafford Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) and Federal Direct PLUS Loans are also available <br />to Title IV participants. Interested individuals should contact the Financial Aid Office for more details <br />pertaining to loan eligibility and terms for repayment.
